My halos went out and the cheapest (don't judge me - I just had a baby) replacement were some blue ones that are very close in color to the headlights. I thought I'd hate them buuuut I actually like them a lot. They're LED and flicker a few times on startup but I think that's just the car doing a bulb check.

Judge on, I have a 530i. If you remind me I'll snap a picture of them tomorrow. Too lazy and exhausted for the night. Newborns man, they'll get ya.

Even if it isn't a M5 the e39 is still my favorite generation 5 series. Not too new where it's heavy but not so old that you can't live with it.

Spot on. It doesn't have the computer complexity of the E60 or sensor overload of newer ones. I love mine - straight 6, RWD, 50/50 balance. 160k miles still going strong. If it died I'd look for another one but they're unicorns out here, I have the only one on my base.

M5 dad has an 2001 silver manual M5 with 110,000 miles on the clock and it is a joy to drive. I really like how there is no artificial exhaust note, just fabulous induction noise.
